New Website for CVO Cycle Response
The New website has been launched for the Cycle Response team of CVO.
Kirklees Street Angels
CVO are providing First Aid and Medical support to the Street Angels Project in Huddersfield town centre.
The project operates on a Friday and Saturday night between 21:00 and 03:00.
The project is a partnership of Kirklees council, West Yorkshire Police, Local churches, CVO / CEMS, the Primary Care Trust and others
Teams of volunteer Street Angels walk the streets of the town centre looking out for people, assisting with those who have become vulnerable, directing people to clubs or taxis, and generally making the town centre a safer place. Should they need assistance, they can contact the towns cctv control room by 2way radio to request CVO and / or the Police.
CVO provide a radid response mountain bike team to the project and when available additional foot patrols.
New Addition to the Fleet
We have finally taken delivery of our first brand new ambulance. The Renault multi purpose vehicle was delivered on Thursday the 24th Jan 08.
The vehicle has a Ferno Pegasus stretcher and tracking to enable wheelchairs to be attached to the floor.
The vehicle will be equipped as a front line A&E ambulance but has the capacity to be used in a PTS or transfer role.
The layout in the saloonalso means that it will make an ideal mobile first aid unit.
Heartstart Bradford is now being managed in a joint venture with the British Heart Foundation, CVO and the University of Bradford. It is hoped that we will be able to take the Emergency Life Support training package to as many people as we can to get those life saving skills into the community where they belong.

Only 1% of people have been trained in CPR. CPR can double the chance of survival of the casualty and may also improve the quality of life if resuscitation is sucessful.
